East Boise Community Reentry Center

The East Boise Community Re-Entry Center is a minimum-security facility for adult female inmates who are nearing the end of their sentence with the Idaho Department of Corrections. This facility is located in East Boise, Idaho and can house a maximum of 150 residents who are preparing for release.

Community reentry centers in Idaho are residential facilities that serve two main purposes. First, they allow residents to work while becoming reunited with families and the community. Second, they provide protection to the community through high accountability and security of the residents in the community reentry center program.

Visiting hours at East Boise Community Re-Entry Center are on Saturdays and Sundays. EBCRC has a set visiting schedule and check-in time. If you are not on time, you will be turned away. Visiting schedules are subject to change based on emergency situations.

General Visiting Rules

All visitors must complete the Visiting Application Adult or Visiting Application Minor Child (if applicable) before visiting the East Boise Community Re-Entry Center. 

Visiting Areas at the facility are defined as the designated area in the backyard, the day room and the front porch.  

It is a crime in the state of Idaho to knowingly introduce or possess contraband in a correctional facility. Contraband includes but is not limited to tobacco, cell phone(s) or telecommunication equipment, controlled/illegal substances, firearms or dangerous weapons, ammunition/explosives, and escape tools or devices. 

If you are caught trying to bring contraband into the East Boise Community Re-Entry Center, you will be arrested and charged. This crime is punishable by five years in prison and/or fine of up to $10,000.

A visitor suspected of being under the influence of intoxicating beverages or drugs will be denied visitation. In addition, visitation privileges may be revoked temporarily or permanently. 

Allowed Items

Items allowed in the visiting room include: Photo identification, money for vending machines, vehicle keys, and if small children are visiting, a diaper bag. The diaper bag may contain diapers; wipes; a pacifier; two bottles of formula, milk, water, or juice; and a container of baby food or cereal.

No cell phones, beepers, laptop/palm computers, cameras, or other electronic equipment is allowed. 

Residents may not give or receive any item from a visitor. Visitors may not give or receive any item from a resident. 

Dress Code

Visitors must wear garments that are conservative and modest. Proper underclothing must be worn. All visitors, including children, must wear shoes -- no bare feet. 

Attire That Is Not Allowed: sleeveless garments, bare midriffs, scrubs, shorts, cutoffs, miniskirts, hats, caps, bandanas, doo-rags, spandex, and low-cut or see-through clothing. 

Multi-layered clothing that could be used to conceal contraband, such as coats and sweatshirts, are also not allowed.

The residents may receive letters (no packages) and photos (no Polaroids or nudity) from family/friends. Personal letters will be opened and searched for contraband.
