Coffee County Jail

The Coffee County Jail is located in New Brockton, Alabama. This facility is operated by the Coffee County Sheriff's Department and holds inmates who have been arrested by local county or municipal law enforcement. 

This facility also houses inmates who are waiting for their cases to be adjudicated by the court, and those who have been sentenced to the county jail. The Coffee County Jail also houses inmates who are waiting to be transferred to their assigned Alabama Department of Corrections facility.

The inmates being held at the Coffee County Jail are not allowed to have anything brought to them without approval from the jail administrator. Inmates must purchase items like hygiene products and food from the commissary. Any inmate who does not have the money to purchase hygiene products will be provided with these items on a bi-weekly basis.

Visiting Hours and Rules

Due to the pandemic, the Coffee County Jail lobby is closed to the public until further notice (as of August 2021). However, video visits are still available.

General Visiting Rules

  • No cell phones allowed in the visiting area
  • Children 12 and under are not allowed to visit
  • No inappropriate dress, language, or actions

Any attempt to bring in contraband will result in criminal charges. All visitors (including their person, belongings, and vehicle) are subject to search. 

Contact visits are not allowed until an inmate has been in custody for six months and the visitor  has approval from the jail administrator.

All inmate mail is processed through USPS. Officers will not pass mail between inmates and visitors. ALL INMATE MAIL IS REQUIRED TO BE ON A WHITE 4x6" POSTCARD.

Writing on the postcard must be in blue or black ink, or the mail will be rejected. Incoming postcards are photocopied, and the inmate receives only the copy. The original card is placed in the inmate's property.

  • No packages of any kind are accepted
  • No photographs are accepted
  • No hand delivered mail is accepted
  • Incoming mail is only delivered to the inmate it is addressed to
  • Incoming mail with a foreign substance on it will not be accepted. This includes mail that appears to be stained, has an aroma, or appears to contain contraband.
  • All inmate mail must have the sender's first and last name, complete address, and inmate's full name.

How to Call an Inmate

You can't call an inmate who is housed at the Coffee County Jail, but they do have access to phones and are allowed to make outgoing calls. The inmate telephone system is operated by Combined Public Communications (CPC). To set up a prepaid account, call 877-998-5678 or visit www.inmatesales.com.

Inmates are allowed to purchase phone time with the money in their commissary accounts.

How to Send Money
