Pike County Jail

The Pike County Jail is located in Troy, Alabama and is operated by the Pike County Sheriff's Department. This facility holds adult male and female inmates who have been arrested by local county or city law enforcement, and it is the primary detention center for all law enforcement agencies in Pike County. 

Inmates are incarcerated for crimes ranging from a violation of misdemeanors to felonies. The Pike County Jail houses:

  • Persons who have been charged with a crime and are awaiting trial
  • Those who have been arrested on warrants
  • Those who have been sentenced to the county jail for one year or less for a misdemeanor crime
  • Those who've been placed on hold by Alabama Probation and Parole
  • Inmates sentenced by municipal courts in the county
  • People who have been placed in the jail "on hold" by other agencies, and
  • Inmates who are waiting to be transferred to their assigned Alabama Department of Corrections facility

Visiting Hours and Rules

Video visits are allowed at the Pike County Jail. You must set up your video visit at JailFunds.com at least 24 hours in advance, and you must be on your inmate's approved visiting list. This site will also allow you to put money on your inmate's books and send them an email.

Inmates in the Pike County Jail are not allowed to receive regular letters and envelopes, they may receive pre-stamped postcards only. NO POSTAGE STAMPS are allowed.

Incoming mail must be addressed to the inmate using full name. All incoming inmate mail must contain a full return address or it will be destroyed. Mail that is not labeled correctly will be marked return to sender.

Inmates are not allowed to have magazines or hardcover books. You can send paperback books to your inmate, but they must be sent directly from the seller. Books sent without following the proper channels will be rejected.

How to Call an Inmate

You can't call an inmate who is housed at the Pike County Jail, but they do have access to phones in their cell blocks and can make outgoing collect calls.

How to Send Money

When inmates are booked into the Pike County Jail, the cash that they have on them is placed into an account at the Sheriff’s Office that allows them to purchase items from the jail commissary. 

Friends and Family members can visit the jail to add money on an inmate's books in person, or they can visit Jail Funds and use a debit or credit card.
