Cochise County Jail
Cochise County has a main jail in Bisbee and two substations (temporary holding facilities), one in Sierra Vista, the other in Willcox. All are operated by the Cochise County Sheriff's Department.
The main facility in Bisbee houses adult male and female inmates who have been arrested by local county or city law enforcement and is the primary detention center for all law enforcement agencies in Cochise County.
Inmates are incarcerated at the Cochise County Jail for crimes ranging from violations to misdemeanors to felonies. The Cochise County Jail also houses those who have been charged with a crime and are awaiting trial.
The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office houses all prisoners from the county and city courts. The facility houses state inmates awaiting transfer to the Arizona Department of Corrections. The jail also contracts with other county and tribal jurisdictions to house their inmates on an as needed basis.
