La Paz County Adult Detention Facility

The La Paz County Adult Detention Facility is located in Parker, Arizona and is operated by the La Paz County Sheriff's Office. This facility houses adult male and female inmates who have been arrested by local county or city law enforcement, and it is the primary detention center for all law enforcement agencies in La Paz County. 

Inmates are incarcerated at the La Paz County Adult Detention Facility for crimes ranging from violations to misdemeanors to felonies. The jail also houses those who have been charged with a crime and are awaiting trial. As well as state inmates awaiting transfer to the Arizona Department of Corrections.

Visiting Hours and Rules

The La Paz City Adult Detention Facility encourages inmates to maintain contact with family and friends through regular visits. Each inmate may receive up to two visits per week, for 30 minutes each visit. Individuals under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

A valid photo ID is required. All visitors will be subject to Arizona Criminal Justice Information system review before visits are approved. All visits are recorded.

All visitors are subject to search and seizure before entering the Visiting area. No food or drinks, cameras, cell phones, purses, bags, fanny packs, or containers of any kind are permitted in the visitation area. All visitors must keep all of their personal items locked in their vehicles.If you are on parole or probation, attempting to visit an inmate may be a violation of the terms of your parole or probation and you may be subject to prosecution.

Males:         Wednesdays and Saturdays
Females:     Tuesdays and Sundays

Times are based on the classification of each inmate. Appointments must be made at least 24 hours in advance by calling 928-669-5816.

All inmate mail must be sent through the U.S. Post Office. Envelopes must be stamped, and must include the inmate's name and a complete return address.

How to Call an Inmate

You can't call an inmate who is housed at the La Paz County Adult Detention Facility, but they do have access to phones in their housing units (after their initial appearance, within 24 hours of their arrest) and can make outgoing collect calls.

Prepaid phone cards are available to the inmates through the commissary. Otherwise all outgoing calls to the public are collect calls.  Messages are not taken for inmates, except in a verified emergency situation.

How to Send Money

All incoming money for inmates (other than initial intake) is accepted by money order through the mail or by cash at the time of visitation.  Cash or money orders are the only form of funds accepted.

Programs For Inmates

Programs offered to inmates at the La Paz County Adult Detention Facility include Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, bible studies, church services, anger management, G.E.D., and other social programs.  

Notary Services are available to inmates as well as commissary for those with funds and indigent packets for those without.

Inmates incarcerated in the La Paz Adult Detention Facility receive required medical treatment of physical illnesses, chemical dependencies, and psychiatric problems during their incarceration.
