Yavapai County Jail

The Yavapai County Jail (aka the Camp Verde Detention Center) is located in Camp Verde, Arizona and is operated by the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office. The facility houses adult male and female inmates who have been arrested by local county or city law enforcement. The sheriff's office also operates the smaller detention bureau located in Prescott, Arizona.

Inmates are incarcerated at the Yavapai County Jail for crimes ranging from violations to misdemeanors to felonies. The facility also houses those who have been charged with a crime and are awaiting trial, as well as state inmates awaiting transfer to the Arizona Department of Corrections.

Bonds may be posted in person 24 hours a day at the Yavapai County Jails in Prescott and in Camp Verde, during business hours at the court of jurisdiction, or through GovPay. To post a bond through GovPay, click here.

Visiting Hours and Rules

Visitation at the Yavapai County Jail is done via video. The video visitation platform increases opportunities inmates have to visit family and friends while decreasing the amount of inmate movement in the jail necessary for face-to-face visitation. 

There is also a remote video visit option that takes away the need to drive to the Camp Verde Detention Center. Online internet video visitation allows inmate visitations via an internet connection for a small charge. 

On-site Video Visits

Inmate visits at the Camp Verde Detention Center are conducted in a special building that houses video monitors. It is located adjacent to detention center parking. 

Visitation times are Monday through Friday from 12:00 pm – 3:30 pm. Visits must be scheduled at least one day in advance, but can be scheduled as far out as 14 days in advance. You can schedule a visit online by clicking this link. You can also schedule in person at the detention center during visitation hours. There is no charge for on-site video visits.

Online Video Visits

Avoid the drive completely with the online visit option over a basic internet connection. These visits are available throughout the year from 7:30AM to 10PM for a cost of only $9.95 per visit.

A return name and address must appear on the envelope. Failure to follow proper procedure will result in the mail being returned to the sender. 

Handwritten or typed letters, approved electronic messages, and approved publications sent via approved methods are accepted and distributed to inmates housed within the Yavapai County Jail. Packages other than approved publications sent via an approved method are not accepted.

Handwritten or typed letters WILL BE REJECTED if it includes any of the following:

  • Polaroid photographs
  • Blank paper and envelopes
  • Photocopies 
  • Printouts from the Internet
  • Staples
  • Stamps
  • Postcards
  • Newspaper or magazine clippings
  • Laminated items
  • Magazines or periodicals

  • Handwritten correspondence written with any substance other than pencil or blue or black ball point pen. No gel ink/roller ball, crayon, or paint.
  • Typed correspondence printed in any color other than black ink
  • Correspondence containing: Inflammatory materials, Sexually oriented or pornographic material, Glitter, Stickers, Adhesive, Tape, Unknown stains/substances (ex:grease, lipstick,etc.)

Publications

All Publications sent to an inmate at the Yavapai County Jail must be:

  • Shipped directly from a recognized publisher, distributer, or authorized retailer
  • Paperback 
  • Pre-paid
  • Publications may not include the following:
    • Staples
    • Laminated contents
    • Inflammatory materials
    • Sexually oriented or pornographic material
    • Product samples or promotional items
    • Calendars
    • Glitter
    • Stickers
    • Adhesive

  • The following are NOT considered publications and will be rejected:

Electronic Messaging

The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office has a new electronic messaging service now available at the Camp Verde Detention Center. For a small fee, EMessaging allows family and friends to send messages with up to six attachments to their loved ones incarcerated within the Yavapai County Detention Center.

How to Call an Inmate

You can't call an inmate who is housed at the Yavapai County Jail, but they do have access to phones in their housing units (after their initial appearance, within 24 hours of their arrest) and can make outgoing collect calls.

How to Send Money

The Yavapai County Jail does not accept checks or money orders through the mail. If an individual wishes to deposit money on behalf of an inmate, they may do so by using the services offered through SECURUS Technologies and JPAY.

SECURUS Technologies offers a deposit service through JPay. This feature allows you to add money to an inmate’s trust fund account, which allows your loved one to purchase commissary items and pay for other offerings while incarcerated.

JPay offers the following options to fund your loved one’s account. There are three easy ways to use JPAY inmate trust fund services:
