Stanislaus County Public Safety Center
The Stanislaus County Public Safety Center is located in Modesto, California and is operated by the Adult Detention Division of the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department. They are responsible for the care and custody of over 1,300 pre-trial, sentenced, and out-of-custody inmates.
The Public Safety Center is a complex that includes the county's consolidated jails and Sheriff's offices. It features a medium/maximum facility, as well as Unit 1 and Unit 2 for minimum security inmates.

VINE (Victim Information and Notification Everyday)
Victim Information and Notification Everyday (VINE) is a free and anonymous telephone service that provides victims of crime both information and notification. VINE monitors the custody status of offenders in the Stanislaus County Claybank and receives updated information every 15 minutes.
The Toll Free Number for California VINE is 1.877.411.5588. Anyone can call the California State VINE line to determine an inmate's custody status. To search for offender information, callers will need one of the following items:
- Offender name or alias
- Secondary search option (if there is more than one offender with the same name), such as:
- Arrest date
- Date of birth
- Middle initial
- Offender identification number
VINE will let callers know about the offender's current custody status, the location of the inmate, and their offender number.

Visiting Hours and Rules
All visits at the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center must be scheduled online in advance at https://stanislausca.gtlvisitme.com/app.
Visits are on a first come, first serve basis. Visitors must check in 30 minutes before their scheduled visiting time. Visiting hours are daily between 8:00 am and 9:00 pm., but scheduled via the inmate's housing unit.

Visiting Rules
A visitor request form must be completed in advance. Incomplete forms will not be accepted. Visit request forms are available at www.scsdonline.com. You must have an email address to register and schedule visitation.
Visitors must present a valid government-issued photo ID that depicts the bearer’s name, date of birth, physical description, and signature.
A maximum of four visitors are allowed at one time for visits at the Sheriff’s Detention Center (PSC East & West), REACT, and the Sheriff’s Visitation Center. A maximum of three visitors are allowed at Minimum Housing Units 1 and 2 (contact visiting).
Minor children must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian during visitation.
Visitors must follow the dress code. Displays of gang colors, symbols, marks, or attire representing gang affiliation are strictly forbidden in visiting areas. Appropriate attire is required.
No short shorts or dresses, no spaghetti strap tops or dresses, no inappropriate verbiage on clothing, shirts must cover the stomach area completely. Visitors who do not meet these criteria will not be allowed to visit.
Visitors who appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be allowed to visit and may be subject to arrest.
Cameras, radios, cell phones, audio/video recording devices, purses, bags, baby strollers, car seats, diaper bags, oversized hats, keys, backpacks, briefcases, wallets, food or drinks, or similar objects that could be used to compromise facility security are banned from visiting and secure perimeter areas within the grounds of the facility.
Visitors are subject to a search of their person, vehicle or property.

If you do not know the Booking Number of an inmate, visit the "Who's in Custody" page. A booking number MUST be included on mailings.
All mail is inspected for contraband. Do not send cash, check, or money order through the mail. Money for inmate accounts is only accepted through TouchPay Payment Systems.
Incoming mail that contains polaroid pictures, nude or partially nude pictures or drawings, raised decorative stickers, letters in envelopes which could conceal contraband, personal checks, cards, items which may be obtained on commissary, substances such as powder, liquids, etc., or any material not deemed acceptable by the Facility Commander will be rejected.
Magazines, periodicals, and books must be sent directly from the publisher.
How to Call an Inmate
Inmates at the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center cannot receive incoming phone calls. However, they have access to phones and can make outgoing calls from the inmate housing area. Phone calls are recorded and may be monitored at any time.
California law has established the right of an arrested person to make at least three free local telephone calls when they are booked: one call to an attorney, one to a bail bond agent, and one to a relative or other personal contact.

Programs For Inmates
Programs offered at the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center include church services, counseling, library facilities, vocational and skills workshops, and recreational.
Various educational and substance abuse programs are also available to inmates. They include the Breaking Barriers Program, GED high school equivalency, E.L.S.E., Alcoholics Anonymous, Women of Wisdom, and Narcotic Anonymous.
A book cart is available to inmates for recreational reading. The law library is also available.
Inmates may also be eligible for the Sheriff’s Work Furlough Program, which allows inmates to serve out their sentence while still maintaining their regular employment.
