Visiting Hours and Rules
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, On-Site Visitation has been suspended until further notice.
Adams County Detention Facility uses Homewav for inmate video visits. Friends and family can create an account at homewav.com or by downloading the free mobile app available on the Apple Store of Google Play.
To schedule a visit, select the facility, inmate, and add money to the account. The inmate will then be able to initiate video calls with the account holder. Video calls are $0.20 per minute with a maximum call length of 30 minutes.

All mail must be sent via the United States Postal Service. Any mail left at the front desk will be returned to the sender or destroyed if there is no return address.
Non-local newspaper subscriptions may be ordered by family/friends with delivery directly to the facility by the news agency. The newspaper must have both the inmate’s full name and booking number, or it will be rejected. Magazine subscriptions are not allowed.
Inmates may receive ten photos or ten pages of computer-generated photos, up to 8 by 10 in size per envelope.
All incoming mail is inspected for contraband and scanned by mailroom staff. Introduction of contraband into the Adams County Detention Facility is a violation of the law.
Contraband items include, but are not limited to:
- Tobacco and/or flame producing devices
- Stationary items (postage stamps, paper, envelopes, metal fasteners, pens, pencils, stickers, address labels, musical greeting cards, greeting cards larger than 8x11 when opened, cardboard)
- Jewelry/beads
- Consumable Items - Food /candy/gum
- Phone cards/Gift cards/Money cards
- Polaroid photos
- Laminated/plastic coated items
- Foreign Substances: (e.g. bodily fluids or unknown/foreign substance on the envelope or its contents (lipstick, lip gloss, perfumes, cosmetics, all stains)
- Photos or drawings depicting characters or people that are sexually suggestive, lewd, or engaging in illegal acts or drug use.
- Any item that shows nudity or partial nudity
- Gang material, including signs/symbols
- Originals/photocopies of social security cards, birth/death certificates, driver’s license, vehicle titles, or bill of sale
- Cash and/or personal checks
- Homemade craft items
- Items that include any of the following: bows, ribbons, foam, tape, cords, metal or mirror pieces, jewels, stones, glue or glued items, wax, glitter.
- Photocopies/pages/clippings of books, magazines, and/or newspapers
- 3rd Party Mail
How to Call an Inmate
Inmates at the Adams County Jail cannot receive incoming phone calls, however, they have access to phones and can make outgoing calls from the inmate housing area. Phone calls are recorded and may be monitored at any time.
The inmate telephone system is operated by HomeWAV. All calls (local and long distance) are collect calls and will be billed to the party accepting the call. To set up an account to allow inmates to call only you, visit homewav.com.How to Send Money
If you want to send money to your inmate to use during their stay at Adams County Jail, you must choose the Trust Account option. (An inmate's Bond Account is set aside for bonding only and cannot be used for anything other than bonding.)

Inmates are assessed a $30 booking fee that is collected upon their arrest. Any monies put into an inmate's account will automatically have the booking fee deducted.
