Broomfield Detention Center

The Broomfield Detention Center is located in Broomfield, Colorado. This facility is operated by the Detention Division of the Broomfield Police Department and houses adult men and women who have been arrested by local law enforcement. The Broomfield Detention Center operates 80 beds, with 138 beds kept in reserve when the need arises. The average daily population is 54.

The Detention Division supports the police department's mission and values by securely and humanely maintaining custody citizens under their supervision, and by preparing them for reintegration into the community through services and programs.

Bonding an inmate out of the Broomfield Detention Center

If you are posting an inmate's bond, you must have the exact bond amount in cash. Detention Center staff is unable to accept checks or credit cards for bonds, and change is not available. 

There is an additional $10 bond fee charged by the court and a $30 booking fee charged by the Detention Center for every bond. Each must be paid separately in cash. 

Broomfield County also accepts credit and debit card payments through AllPaid for bonds. Payments can be made with a major credit, debit, or prepaid debit card, including:

Visiting Hours and Rules

Visitor Registration and Scheduling

Inmate visits require registration and advance scheduling. Click here or call iWeb Customer Service toll free at 775.434.8748 between the hours of 7 a.m. and 9 p.m., seven days a week to register and/or schedule your visit.

Remote Visits

Visits can be conducted remotely from the convenience of the visitor's location. The fee for a 15 minute visit is $5. Visits are by appointment only and cannot be conducted the same day as scheduled. Inmates are allowed unlimited remote visits per day. 

You will be required to pay for your visit appointment at the time of scheduling. Visits are conducted Sunday-Saturday between:

  • 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m.
  • 12 noon-4 p.m.
  • 6:15 p.m.-9 p.m.

Lobby/On-Site Visits

There are limited appointments available in the Detention Center lobby for in-person visits. You must register for on-site visits and schedule them, just like you would for a remote visit. There is no guarantee that the lobby visit will be scheduled. 

Visitors must be at least 18 years old, provide a valid government-issued photo ID, and sign in at the lobby counter prior to the start of the visit. All lobby visitors are required to wear clothing that is not revealing. Unattended children will cause the visit to be terminated. 

On-Site Visits are conducted Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m. and 12 noon-4 p.m. 

Visiting Rules

All visits are monitored and recorded. Engaging in inappropriate behavior, language, illicit/illegal behavior will cause the visit to be terminated and no refund will be given. 

Continued violations can cause the visitor to be blocked from further visits with any inmate confined to the Broomfield Detention Center. 

Email addresses are required to schedule visits, which allows communication in the event a change or cancellation of your appointment is necessary. 

If you have been incarcerated at the Broomfield facility in the past 30 days, you are not allowed to schedule a visit.

Only letter and legal size envelopes are accepted at the Broomfield Detention Center. The only items that can be sent with inmate letters are photographs printed on photographic paper (no Polaroids). Photocopies of photographs or pictures are not allowed. 

Stamps, envelopes, stickers, or phone cards are not accepted in inmate mail. Do not send material printed from the Internet. 

How to Call an Inmate

Inmates at the Broomfield Detention Center cannot receive incoming phone calls, however, they have access to phones and can make outgoing calls from the inmate housing area. Phone calls are recorded and may be monitored at any time. The inmate phone system does not allow outgoing calls to cellular phones.

The Broomfield Detention Center does offer phone cards for purchase from the commissary with inmate funds.
