Bonding an Inmate out of the Gilpin County Jail
An inmate's bond is set by a judge according to a court-approved schedule. The purpose is to assure an inmate’s appearance in court. The amount of the bond is what it will take to release the inmate from jail.
There are three types of bonds -- personal recognizance (PR), surety, and cash. PR bonds are issued by the judge and only require a signature (no money). Surety bond require a bondsman, who will pay the bond and charge you 10 to 15 percent of the bond amount as a fee.
Cash bonds must be paid in full with cash, debit/credit card, or money order.
The Gilpin County Jail charges a $10.00 fee for processing a bond. This fee is charged for every Bond completed and processed by detention staff.
When processing bonds, proper identification and correct money amounts are required. Detention staff can't give change when processing financial transactions.
It is recommended you call the Gilpin County Jail at (303) 582-3576 to inquire and receive current bonding information for the defendant you wish to have released on bond.
