Holmes County Jail
Generally, being in custody at the Holmes County Jail is not intended to be punitive. Most who are incarcerated there have not been tried by the Courts, and so they must be presumed innocent until proven guilty. Some of the inmates at the jail have been tried and are sentenced County and/or State inmates.
It is the mission of the Holmes County Jail, "to provide a safe, secure, functional and humane environment for inmates, staff and visitors." The jail's primary function is the maintenance of those individuals who must be held in custody pending disposition of their respective cases by the Courts.

Florida VINE
The Florida VINE system is a service through which victims of crime can search for information regarding the custody status of their offender, and to register to receive phone calls and e-mail notifications when the offender’s custody status changes.

Inmates being held for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the Florida Department of Corrections (DOC), or charges from other counties will not be found by going to the VINE Link above. You will have to call the jail.
Bonding someone out of the Holmes County Jail
The method (cash/surety) and amount of money needed for bonding someone out of the Holmes County Jail depends on their charges. Most crimes, but not all crimes, are bondable offenses.
When you pay a cash bond, it is refunded to you when all court appearances have been made and the case is discharged, dismissed, or a not guilty verdict rendered. If the arrestee fails to appear or is found guilty, the money will be forfeited.
When you use a Bail Bondsman for a surety bond, you will not get a refund.

Visiting Hours and Rules
Visits at the Holmes County Jail are non-contact, and only immediate family is allowed. You will need to bring your drivers license or picture ID with you in order to visit. If you are married to an inmate and your ID shows a different last name, you must bring your marriage license.

Once an inmate has been booked into the Holmes County Jail and has made their first court appearance, they will get their pod assignment so the family can schedule a visit. The top eight visitors on the board are allowed the first hour of visitation, the second group of eight get the last hour.
Cell phones and other electronic devices are not allowed in the visiting room. No food or drinks, either. Only two visitors are allowed per inmate, and proper clothing is required.

Routine letters and family photos are generally accepted in inmate mail. Mail that is of a sexual nature, encourages violence, or includes instructions about how to make any item of contraband will be rejected.
No food, medicines, greeting cards, pens, pencils, markers, stickers, packages, or cash will be accepted through the mail.
Photographs are allowed if they are deemed not to be offensive, are not of a sexual nature, do not contain any gang references, and do not display guns, drugs or drug paraphernalia.
How to Call an Inmate
Inmates at the Holmes County Jail cannot receive incoming phone calls, however, they have access to phones and can make outgoing calls from the inmate housing area. Phone calls are recorded and may be monitored at any time.
