Joseph V. Conte Facility
The Joseph V. Conte Facility is located in Pompano Beach, Florida. It is operated by the Broward County Sheriff's Department and houses adult men who have been arrested by local county or municipal law enforcement. The facility houses 1,328 inmates.
The Joseph V. Conte Facility Bureau is one of five jail facilities in Broward County. The others are the Main Jail Bureau, the North Broward Bureau, the Central Intake Bureau, and the Paul Rein Facility.
This jail is a male, medium-custody facility housing mainly inmates awaiting trial. Conte is a direct supervision facility, which means that deputies are stationed inside the housing units and interact directly with inmates.

Visiting Hours and Rules
In-person inmate visitation is no longer available at any of the Broward County jail facilities, including the Joseph V. Conte Facility. All visits are conducted off-site at the Video Visitation Center or remotely by using your Smartphone.
To sign up and schedule an appointment, please visit the Video Visitation Center at 3700 W. Oakland Park Blvd., Lauderdale Lakes, Florida 33311 or go to www.videovisitanywhere.com.
All visits must be scheduled 24 hours in advance, and all visitors must register online. Go to www.videovisitanywhere.com for rules, schedule times and availability.
Video Visitation Center schedule start times for the Joseph V. Conte Facility are 7:45 am to 1:45 pm and 3:45 pm to 9:45 pm, seven days a week. All inmates receive two one-hour visits per week via the Visitation Center.
Visits may be scheduled for any available appointment times. Visits at the Video Visitation Center are free of charge and will last up to one hour. Remote Visits are $5 for a 30 minute visit, and will end automatically at the end of the 30 minutes.
Video Visit Rules
All visits are recorded and are subject to being monitored.
Video or audio recording, screenshots or photographing of any portion of a remote or visitation center visit is strictly prohibited and will result in a permanent suspension/revocation of visitation privileges.
Video or audio recordings, screenshots, photographing and social media posting of any kind pertaining to your remote/visitation center visit is strictly prohibited and will result in permanent suspension/revocation of visitation privileges by the visitor.
- Available visitation times will be shown at the time of scheduling.
- You must check in 15 minutes prior to your scheduled visit time.
- No more than two approved visitors are allowed to visit at a time. Minors under the age of 18 and infants are considered visitors and must have proper documentation.
- All visitors must properly identify themselves upon arriving at the Video Visitation Center. Government Issued Picture I.D. is required.
- Visitors appearing to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be admitted into the video visitation area.
- Proper attire is required at all times. Shoes and shirts must be worn; suggestive clothing, see-through fabrics, halter or tube type tops, tank tops, short shorts and mini-skirts will not be permitted.
- Cell phones and electronic devices are prohibited inside the video visitation area. They MUST be turned OFF and secured in a locker.
- During your visit, you must remain at your visitation booth. Walking around the video visitation area or switching visitation booths is prohibited.
- Respect other visitors at all times.
- Smoking, chewing gum, eating, or drinking are not permitted in the video visitation area.

All routine incoming mail must be in the form of an acceptable pre-stamped postcard. Any mail not meeting acceptable criteria will be returned.
Acceptable postcard forms: Postcards must be pre-stamped and at least 3 ½ x 5 inches. The maximum size allowed is 4 ¼ x 6 inches. Writing must be in blue or black ink.
Unacceptable postcard forms:
- Defaced or altered cards
- Plastic or wrappings on the cards
- Postcards marked with paint, crayons, watermarks, or stains; postcards with any biohazards to include lipstick or perfumes
- Postcards depicting nudity; explicit images of sexual activity, suggestive content, weapons, coded messages, or gang references; money, labels, or stickers attached to the postcard
- Images or the likeness of the recipient inmate or other inmate(s)
- Oversized postcards; fold over multi-layered postcards; and imprinted holograms onto postcards.
All photos mailed in must be printed on the actual postcards. Photos attached (glued, stapled, paper clipped, etc.) to a postcard in any way will not be accepted.
How to Call an Inmate
Inmates at the Joseph V. Conte Facility cannot receive incoming phone calls, however, they have access to phones and can make outgoing calls from the inmate housing area.
