Paul Rein Detention Facility

The Paul Rein Detention Facility is located in Pompano Beach, Florida. It is operated by the Broward County Sheriff's Department and houses adult men and women who have been arrested by local county or municipal law enforcement. Designed to handle 1,020 inmates in two four-story towers, the 257,790 square foot medium / maximum security jail houses male and female inmates in separate areas.

The Paul Rein Detention Facility Bureau is one of five jail facilities in Broward County. The others are the Main Jail Bureau, the North Broward Bureau, the Central Intake Bureau, and the Joseph V. Conte Facility.

Paul Rein is the newest detention facility in Broward County, opening in 2004. It was modeled after the Joseph V. Conte Facility, and is a direct supervision jail where staff works more closely with inmates and inmate movement is kept to a minimum.
