Volusia County Correctional Facility

The Volusia County Correctional Facility is located in Daytona Beach, Florida and is operated by the Volusia County Sheriff's Department. This facility houses adults and juveniles—both felony and misdemeanor offenders—who have been sentenced by local courts to county or city jail time.


This is one of two jails in Volusia County, and it mostly houses inmates who have been convicted and sentenced. The other is the Branch Jail on Red John Drive in Daytona Beach, where most arrestees are booked, processed, and attend their first court appearance.

Visiting Hours and Rules

Visitation for the Volusia County Correctional Center is held in the Visitation Center at 1300A Red John Drive (next to the Branch Jail) in Daytona Beach. Visitation is by appointment only. 

To make an appointment, go to www.icsolutions.com or call 888-506-8407. Appointments can be scheduled 24 hours a day, seven days a week using the automated phone scheduling system. 

To schedule a visit, you must know the inmate’s 6-digit booking number. If you do not know the inmate’s booking number, it can be found by Clicking Here for the Inmate Information Search Page.

If you still need assistance, the visitation operator is generally available to take your call from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. and 5 to 9 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday only.

Inmates are allowed only two visitors, one visit per day. Appointments must be made by 9 p.m. before the day a visit is requested.

All on-site visitors must check-in at the Video Visitation Building ten minutes prior to the appointment. Visitors will not be permitted to enter the Visitation Center once their visitation period has started.

Visitation is Tuesday through Saturday, and the following visitation sessions are available:

1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

1:40 p.m. to 2:10 p.m.

2:20 p.m. to 2:50 p.m.

3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. 

6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

7:10 p.m. to 7:40 p.m.

7:50 p.m. to 8:20 p.m.

8:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. 


Visitation Rules

Photo identification is required. All adult visitors must have valid, government-issued photo identification displaying a date of birth.

Juveniles—Children under age 18 must have a photo I.D., a birth certificate, or other legal custody papers, such as adoption, ward of court, etc. An adult must accompany visitors under age 18. 

Frequency of visits—Each inmate is allowed one visiting session per day, Tuesday through Saturday.

Number of visitors—Up to two people and two small children may visit an inmate at one time. Once the visitor leaves, he or she will not be permitted back into visitation.

Dress code—All visitors must be appropriately dressed. No see-through or revealing garments are permitted. No short-shorts, no miniskirts, no cleavage, nothing strapless, no spandex, no muscle or mesh T-shirts. Anyone wearing clothing deemed inappropriate will be asked to leave.

Initial 72 hours of incarceration—Visits are restricted during the first three days the inmate is in the jail, and they must be approved by the Operations Supervisor. 

Electronic Devices—Possession of electronic devices including, but not limited to, tablets, smart phones, iPods, cameras, or other recording devices are prohibited from being in the visitation building. 

Money Orders—Money orders can be deposited to the inmate's commissary account using the money order drop box in the Visitation Center.

ALL incoming mail and photos are inspected and electronically scanned at a third-party facility. The mail is then forwarded to Volusia County Corrections for inspection and delivered to the inmate through an application on a handheld tablet. 

All mail must be addressed to a specific inmate under the name used during booking with the matching booking number, and it must include the return address of the sender or it will be returned. 

Mail must arrive through regular recognized delivery channels (U.S. Post office, FedEx, UPS). Hand delivered mail is not accepted.

Photos must not contain nude, provocative, or sexually explicit images. Vulgar or obscene mail will be returned to the sender. Mail with biohazards (perfume, lipstick, paint, etc.) will be returned or destroyed. 

Books, magazines, and other publications items are accepted only when mailed directly from the book store, publisher, book club, or other reputable distributor (e.g., Amazon) on a prepaid basis. 

Packages mailed or delivered by family members, friends, or others will not be accepted.

How to Call an Inmate

Inmates at the Volusia County Correctional Facility cannot receive incoming phone calls, however, they have access to phones and can make outgoing calls from the inmate housing area daily. Phone calls are recorded and may be monitored at any time.

Walk-in Retail Locations

There are over 4,200 retail locations in Florida where you can deposit money into your inmate's account, including Dollar General, Family Dollar, Walgreens, CVS, and Walmart.

First, go to www.accesscorrections.com to sign up, then click on the Send Money icon. Click Florida from the “Select a State” drop down, then “Volusia County Jail” for the Agency.  

Click on the Cash Pay Today link to register, then a bar code will be sent to you by email. Each barcode is associated with just one recipient. You can take an image of the barcode and save it on your phone or add it to the phone's wallet. 

Mail

You must send a money order and the order deposit coupon—which can be found at www.accesscorrections.com. No cash or checks.

Click on “Send Money,” click “Florida” from the “Select a State” drop down, then “Volusia County Jail” for the Agency. Click on the fillable money order form link and complete all information.

Envelopes must contain ONLY the money order/certified cashier’s check/certified government check – notes or photos cannot be included. A return address must be included on the envelope.
