Banks County Jail

The Banks County Jail is located in Homer, Georgia and is operated by the Banks County Sheriff's Department. This jail houses adults and juveniles—both felony and misdemeanor offenders—who have been arrested by local county or municipal law enforcement. The jail was built in 2004 and is designed to house 60 local and state inmates.

Bonding someone out of the Banks County Jail

If an inmate has bondable charges, he or she can bond out at any time. A bond can be paid with or without a bail bond agent.

Visiting Hours and Rules

All visits at the Banks County Jail are non-contact and conducted through a glass partition. Inmates are allowed two visitors per day. Visitors must sign in at least 15 minutes prior to their scheduled visits.

How to Call an Inmate

All applicants must meet Banks County Sheriff’s Office’s standards for hiring eligibility, with preference given to Banks County residents. Hiring requirements include successfully passing all of the following steps:

  • Entry level law enforcement examination
    • Score of 70% or higher for detention center positionsand 76% or higher for patrol positions
