Jail guard Amara Brown admits to DoorDash delivery for inmate
Guard Amara Brown at Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center is charged with using DoorDash to deliver a meal to an inmate.
The Barrow County Jail (aka the Barrow County Detention Center) is located in Winder, Georgia and is operated by the Barrow County Sheriff’s Department. This jail houses adult males and females—both felony and misdemeanor offenders – who have been arrested by local county or municipal law enforcement.
The Detention Center is a 372-bed county jail that is primarily a holding facility for men and women charged with a criminal offense waiting for a court appearance and for persons already sentenced but waiting for a transfer to a state or federal facility.
This facility also holds persons found guilty of certain misdemeanors and sentenced to one year or less. The Barrow County Detention Center does not hold juveniles, as they are transferred to a regional youth detention center in Gainesville.
