To sign a cash bond you must bring a photo identification card and enough cash to cover the bond. The sheriff's office only accepts paper money (no change allowed). The entire amount of the cash bond must be paid before the inmate is released.

Visiting Hours and Rules
All visits are non-contact and take place at the jail. Visitation days and times at the Ben Hill County Jail are determined by the first letter of the inmate’s last name.
Males: Saturday
A-M: 8:30 am to 11:30 am
N-Z: 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Females: Sunday
All: 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Visitors should call ahead on the day they plan to visit to ensure visitation has not been canceled.
Visitation Rules
Inmates are allowed 30 minutes of visitation each week. This can be divided among the maximum of four visitors, but no more than one visitor per inmate is allowed in the visitation area at a time.
Noise must be held to a minimum to allow other visitors to hear on the phones. Anyone violating the rules will be escorted from the detention center.
Children under the age of 12 are not allowed in the visitation area. No child can be left unattended in the lobby.
All visitors are subject to approval by the Jail Administrator. No one will be allowed to visit an inmate that is not on the approved visitation list.
Visitors are required to present a valid photo ID. Examples include: Valid Passport, Driver’s License, State Issued Identification Card, Military ID Card, or any verifiable ID Card Issued by a Governmental Agency.
Examples of non-approved ID cards include (but are not limited to): Employee ID Card, Check cashing card, Governmental ID Card without a photograph, etc. Visitors who cannot present an approved ID card will not be allowed to visit.
A child over 12 and under 17 can be admitted with a valid birth certificate if listed on the inmate’s visitation list.
Anyone visiting an inmate at the Ben Hill County Detention Center is subject to search. Persons found bringing or attempting to bring contraband across the guard line will be prosecuted according to state laws.

How to Call an Inmate
Inmates at the Ben Hill County Jail cannot receive incoming phone calls, however, they have access to phones and can make outgoing calls from the inmate housing area daily. Phone calls are recorded and may be monitored at any time.
How to Send Money
All inmates at the Ben Hill County Detention Center are set up with an inmate cash account when they are booked into the facility. This account is used by the inmate to purchase commissary items, phone calls, and emails.
The jail accepts cash, credit card, debit card, and money orders for fund deposits on an inmate's account. NO personal or payroll checks are accepted.
