Visiting Hours and Rules
All visitors must schedule their visits two days in advance of the day they wish to visit. Visits can be scheduled in person, or by calling (719) 390-2373. Do not call the general information number to schedule a visit.
All visitors must be registered. Have your driver’s license ready for registration purposes. Once a visit is scheduled, no changes to the scheduled date or time will be allowed.
When you call to schedule a visit, you must provide the following information:
- Who you want to visit (please provide the inmate’s complete name and the correct spelling of their name).
- What time do you wish to visit
- All the adult visitors’ complete names. You are limited to only three persons per visit. This includes all children under the age of 18.
- The number of children or babies that you will be bringing with you to your visit.
Visiting Hours at El Paso County Criminal Justice Center are daily from 8 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
During the Day Shift, the first visit starts at 8 a.m. while the last visit will start at 1:15 p.m. and end at 1:45 p.m.
During the Swing Shift, the first visit starts at 4 p.m. while the last visit will start at 8:30 p.m. and end at 9 p.m.
The Video Visitation Center is open every day of the year. The 31st of the month is available to Progressive/Regressive wards (A1, A2, A3, B1, B4, C1, C2, D1, E1 and F1) only.
General Rules
All visits are non-contact. Visits will be limited to three visitors to include children. All visitors are subject to search while in the facility. Visitors are not allowed to carry any items into the visitation area. Only necessary items may be brought into the building. Extra items should be secured in your vehicle or left at home.
No food; No gum; No drinks; No smoking; No loitering in or near the Video Visitation Center; No animals permitted in the Criminal Justice Center or Visitation Center except for trained service animals. Cell phones must be turned off and put away while in the Visitation Center.
Proper Government issued photo identification is required to visit.
All visitors checking in for a scheduled visit must be present at the start of the visit. Visitors must remain at their designated visitation booth until they are ready to leave, or the visit has ended. If a visitor leaves the Visitation Center before the visit has ended, they may not re-enter the visitation area.
Late arrivals are only entitled to the balance of their scheduled time up to 15 minutes. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, you will be asked to reschedule your visit.

All mail sent to detainees must include the last four digits of their A-number (File Number), plus the sender’s name and address. For safety reasons, all incoming mail is subject to screening for contraband. The mail is not read upon opening, only inspected by the delivering officer.
A detainee may receive items for travel or release from agency custody with approval of the ICE Deportation Officer. Before sending packages to detainees, please contact the Case Deportation Officer at:

Detainees being removed from the United States are allowed one small piece of luggage, which can be sent after getting approval from the Supervisory Deportation Officer. For security reasons, no electronic devices (cell phones, electric razors, laptop computers, radios, etc.) are accepted.
How to Call an Inmate
Detainees at El Paso County Criminal Justice Center cannot receive incoming calls. To leave an urgent message, you must call (719) 390-2000 and leave the detainee’s full name, alien registration number, your name, and a telephone number where you can be reached.
How to Send Money
You can send money to a detainee at El Paso County Criminal Justice Center by mailing them a check or money order directly. The processing officer will provide a receipt for all money received. Do not send cash.

To Post a Delivery Bond
Delivery bonds are posted when a person has been taken into ICE custody and placed into removal proceedings while in the United States. When posting a delivery bond, you must show proof of identity.
Bonds for aliens detained by ICE may be posted at ICE ERO bond acceptance offices nationwide, Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., local time. For a list of ICE ERO bond acceptance offices nearest you or for bond information, click here. You must have the last name of the detainee and their alien registration number before calling.
Acceptable forms of payment are: money orders, cashier’s checks or certified checks. Payments must be made payable to “U.S. Department of Homeland Security” or “Immigration and Customs Enforcement.”
