General Rules
To allow enough time to process through security, all visitors must arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled visit time. Adult visitors must have a valid, government-issued photo ID.
All visits will last a maximum of 30 minutes, unless otherwise approved by the facility administrator. All visits are non-contact.
Two adult visitors per detainee are allowed on a first come, first serve basis. The number of children allowed will be based on space availability.
All visitors under the age of eighteen (18) must be accompanied by an approved adult or access to the facility will not be granted. Visitors under the age of eighteen (18) do not need an approved visitation form.
Teenagers ages 13 – 17 years are recommended to provide a birth certificate, state identification card or student identification card as proof of age verification.
Immediately before and after each visit, visitation officers at Robert A. Deyton Detention Facility will conduct a thorough search to detect any contraband. This includes the attorney/contact visitation areas.
Attorney Visits
Attorneys and paralegals may visit detainees Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Consular Visits
Consular officials are allowed to meet with their detained nationals at any time. When possible, arrangements should be made with the ICE Supervisory Deportation Officer in advance by calling (404) 893-1210. All consular officials should bring appropriate credentials.
Clergy Visits
Clergy are allowed to visit detainees housed at Robert A. Deyton Detention Facility at any time. However, arrangements must be made in advance through the chaplain's office by phone (770) 305-8000 Ext. # 122 or email at [email protected].

When sending a detainee mail through the US Postal Service, you must include the last four digits of their Alien number, plus your name and address. The staff at Robert A. Deyton Detention Facility does not read incoming detainee mail, but they do screen it for contraband.
Sending Packages

Detainees who are being removed from the United States are allowed one small piece of luggage. This can be sent after receiving approval from the Supervisory Deportation Officer. For security reasons, no electronic devices (cell phones, electric razors, laptop computers, radios, etc.) are accepted.
How to Call an Inmate
Detainees at Robert A. Deyton Detention Facility can't receive incoming calls. However, if you need to leave an urgent message you can call Chaplain D. Bowen at (770) 305-8000 Ext. 122.
The message should include the detainee's full name, their alien registration number, a telephone number where you can be reached, and a brief description of the reason for the emergency call.
How to Send Money
You can send money to a detainee at Robert A. Deyton Detention Facility by mailing a money order or cashier's check directly to the detainee. Do not send cash. The processing officer will put the money into the detainee's account and issue a receipt.

To Post a Delivery Bond
When a detainee in ICE custody is placed into removal proceedings while they are in the United States, a delivery bond may be posted. When you post a delivery bond, you are required to show proof of identity.
Bonds for aliens detained by ICE can be posted at ICE ERO bond acceptance offices nationwide, Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., local time.
