Visiting Hours and Rules
Visiting hours at Hardin County Correctional Center are as follows:
- Female Detainees: 8:30 a.m to 11:30 a.m. Monday through Saturday
- Male Detainees: 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday
General Rules
Each registered visitor may visit for up to 30 minutes. No visitor may register more than once per day. Up to three persons may visit the same detainee at the same time. All visits are non-contact.
Adult visitors must present two valid forms of identification to enter the facility. Minors who are visiting the facility must be accompanied by an adult guardian (18 years or older). Minor visitors may only visit a detainee who is an immediate family member.
All visitors (adults and minors) are subject to a pat-down search of their person, an inspection of their belongings, and a metal scan search. If you refuse to cooperate with a reasonable search, you will not be admitted.
No firearms or weapons of any kind are permitted. No electronic devices (cell phones, pagers, radios, etc.) are permitted in the secure areas of the Hardin County Correctional Center.
Attorney Visits
Attorneys may visit detainees at any time, as long as security and daily routine aren't interrupted. Attorneys are required to show their bar card or proof of profession.
Consular Visits
Consular officials are allowed to meet with their detained nationals at any time. When possible, arrangements should be made with the ICE Supervisory Deportation Officer in advance by calling 319-286-4660. All consular officials should bring appropriate credentials.
Clergy Visits
Clergy are allowed to visit detainees housed at Hardin County Correctional Center at any time. However, arrangements must be made in advance through the chaplain's office. Clergy members not associated with the Pine Lake Ministerial Association are required to visit in the attorney area or public visitation.

When sending a detainee mail through the US Postal Service, you must include the last four digits of their Alien number, plus your name and address. The staff at Hardin County Correctional Center does not read incoming detainee mail, but they do screen it for contraband.
Sending Packages
Detainees at Hardin County Correctional Center are not allowed to receive care packages. However, a detainee may receive items that are considered necessary for travel or release from agency custody with approval of the ICE Deportation Officer.
These packages must be sent by mail. Before sending packages to detainees, contact the Cedar Rapids ICE/ERO Office at 319-286-4674.
Detainees who are being removed from the United States are allowed one small piece of luggage. This can be sent after receiving approval from the Supervisory Deportation Officer. For security reasons, no electronic devices (cell phones, electric razors, laptop computers, radios, etc.) are accepted.

How to Send Money
You can send money to a detainee at Hardin County Correctional Center by mailing a money order or cashier's check directly to the detainee. Do not send cash. The processing officer will put the money into the detainee's account and issue a receipt.

To Post a Delivery Bond
When a detainee in ICE custody is placed into removal proceedings while they are in the United States, a delivery bond may be posted. When you post a delivery bond, you are required to show proof of identity.
Bonds for aliens detained by ICE can be posted at ICE ERO bond acceptance offices nationwide, Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., local time.
