Visiting Hours and Rules

Visiting hours at Jackson Parish Correctional Center are daily between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm.

General Rules

Visits can last a maximum of two hours. All visits are contact visits.

Adult visitors must have a valid photo ID to enter the facility. Minors who are visiting must be accompanied by an adult guardian (18 years or older).

All visitors (adults and minors) are subject to a pat-down search of their person, an inspection of their belongings, and a metal scan search. If you refuse to cooperate with a reasonable search, you will not be admitted. 

You are not allowed to carry any items into the visiting area or pass any items to detainees. No firearms or weapons of any kind are permitted. No electronic devices (cell phones, pagers, radios, etc.) are permitted at Jackson Parish Correctional Center. 

Free public parking is available on the premises.

Attorney Visits
Attorneys and paralegals may visit detainees Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Consular Visits
Consular officials are allowed to meet with their detained nationals at any time. When possible, arrangements should be made with the ICE Supervisory Deportation Officer in advance by calling (318) 259-4309. All consular officials should bring appropriate credentials. 

Clergy Visits
Clergy are allowed to visit detainees housed at Jackson Parish Correctional Center at any time. However, arrangements must be made in advance through the chaplain's office by calling (318) 259-8799.

When sending a detainee mail through the US Postal Service, you must include the last four digits of their Alien number, plus your name and address. The staff at Jackson Parish Correctional Center does not read incoming detainee mail, but they do screen it for contraband.

Detainees who are being removed from the United States are allowed one small piece of luggage. This can be sent after receiving approval from the Supervisory Deportation Officer. For security reasons, no electronic devices (cell phones, electric razors, laptop computers, radios, etc.) are accepted.

How to Call an Inmate

Detainees at Jackson Parish Correctional Center can't receive incoming calls. However, if you need to leave an urgent message you can call (318) 259-8799. The message should include the detainee's full name, their alien registration number, and a telephone number where you can be reached.

How to Send Money

You can send money to a detainee at Jackson Parish Correctional Center by mailing a money order or cashier's check directly to the detainee. Do not send cash. The processing officer will put the money into the detainee's account and issue a receipt.

To Post a Delivery Bond

When a detainee in ICE custody is placed into removal proceedings while they are in the United States, a delivery bond may be posted. When you post a delivery bond, you are required to show proof of identity.

Bonds for aliens detained by ICE can be posted at ICE ERO bond acceptance offices nationwide, Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., local time. Acceptable forms of payment are: 

  • money orders
  • cashier’s checks 
  • certified checks

Payments must be made payable to “U.S. Department of Homeland Security” or “Immigration and Customs Enforcement.”
