Visiting Hours and Rules
Visiting hours at River Correctional Center are as follows:

General Rules
All visits are contact visits and can last a maximum of one hour. However, if the visiting room is not full, staff may allow visits to last as long as two hours.
All adult visitors must have a valid photo ID to enter the facility. Minors who are visiting must be accompanied by an adult guardian (18 years or older). To allow enough time for processing through security, visitors should arrive 15-30 minutes prior to their scheduled visit.
Visitors (adults and minors) are subject to a pat-down search of their person, an inspection of their belongings, and a metal scan search. If you refuse to cooperate with a reasonable search, you will not be allowed to visit.
Visitors are not allowed to carry any items into the visiting area or pass any items to detainees. No firearms or weapons of any kind are permitted. No electronic devices (cell phones, pagers, radios, etc.) are permitted in the secure areas of the River Correctional Center.
Attorney Visits
Attorneys and paralegals may visit detainees Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Consular Visits
Consular officials are allowed to meet with their detained nationals at any time. All consular officials should bring appropriate credentials.
When possible, arrangements should be made with the ICE Supervisory Deportation Officer in advance by calling (318) 992-1600.
Clergy Visits
Clergy are allowed to visit detainees housed at River Correctional Center at any time. However, arrangements must be made in advance through the chaplain's office by calling (318) 757-0622.

When sending a detainee mail through the US Postal Service, you must include the last four digits of their Alien number, plus your name and address. The staff at River Correctional Center does not read incoming detainee mail, but they do screen it for contraband.
Sending Packages
Detainees at River Correctional Center are not allowed to receive care packages. However, a detainee may receive items that are considered necessary for travel or release from agency custody with approval of the ICE Deportation Officer.

Detainees who are being removed from the United States are allowed one small piece of luggage. This can be sent after receiving approval from the Supervisory Deportation Officer. For security reasons, no electronic devices (cell phones, electric razors, laptop computers, radios, etc.) are accepted.
How to Call an Inmate
You can't call a detainee at River Correctional Center. However, if you need to leave an urgent message you can call (318) 757-0622. The message should include the detainee's full name, their alien registration number, and a telephone number where you can be reached.
How to Send Money
You can send money to a detainee at River Correctional Center by mailing a money order or cashier's check directly to the detainee. Do not send cash. The processing officer will put the money into the detainee's account and issue a receipt.

Visitors may deposit cash only into a detainee's account at the facility during business hours Monday through Friday – excluding holidays.
To Post a Delivery Bond
When a detainee in ICE custody is placed into removal proceedings while they are in the United States, a delivery bond may be posted. When you post a delivery bond, you are required to show proof of identity.
Bonds for aliens detained by ICE can be posted at ICE ERO bond acceptance offices nationwide, Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., local time. Acceptable forms of payment are:
