General Rules
For visiting information, please call (601) 304-2500. All visits are contact visits (except for detainees who are in administrative segregation) and may last up to 30 minutes. Please arrive at least 30 minutes in advance of the scheduled visiting time to allow time to process through security.
All adult visitors must have a valid photo ID to enter the facility. Minors who are visiting must be accompanied by an adult guardian (18 years or older).
Visitors may bring $20 maximum (in increments of $5, $1 and/or quarters) per person for the visitation vending machines.
Visitors are not allowed to carry any items into the visiting area or pass any items to detainees. No firearms or weapons of any kind are permitted. No electronic devices (cell phones, pagers, radios, etc.) are permitted in the secure areas of the Adams County Detention Center.
All visitors (adults and minors) are subject to a pat-down search of their person, an inspection of their belongings, and a metal scan search. If you refuse to cooperate, you will not be allowed to visit.
There are designated visitor parking spaces on the West end of the parking lot near the Administration Building. If a designated "visitor" parking spot is not available, visitors should park on the west end of the main parking area.
Dress Code
The following clothing is prohibited in the visiting room at Adams County Detention Center:
- No shirts that are low cut or revealing, including tank tops or halter tops.
- No clothes that are see-through, extremely tight or reveal the midriff.
- No sleeveless or strapless dresses, swimsuits, bandanas, military clothing, or sports logos.
- No hats
- No sunglasses
- No jewelry
- No watches
- No stilettos or heels
- No keys (keys will be stored in the front lobby in an assigned locker)
The following rules also apply:
- Undergarments will be worn at all times, but not visible.
- Skirts or dresses must be no higher than 2” above the knee.
- Shoes must be worn at all times, but no thongs, slippers, or open-toe shoes.
- Only religious head coverings may be worn.
Attorney Visits
Attorney visitation hours are the same as other visitation hours. If additional times are needed, please coordinate through the facility by calling (601) 304-2509.
Consular Visits
Consular officials are allowed to meet with their detained nationals at any time. When possible, arrangements should be made with the ICE Supervisory Deportation Officer in advance by calling (601) 304-3002. All consular officials should bring appropriate credentials.
Clergy Visits
Clergy are allowed to visit detainees housed at Adams County Detention Center at any time. Arrangements must be made in advance through the chaplain's office by calling (601) 304-2525.

When sending a detainee mail, you must include the last four digits of their Alien number, plus your name and address. The staff at Adams County Detention Center does not read incoming detainee mail, but they do screen it for contraband.
Sending Packages
Detainees at Adams County Detention Center are not allowed to receive care packages. However, a detainee may receive items that are considered necessary for travel or release from agency custody with approval of the ICE Deportation Officer. Before sending packages to detainees, contact the facility mail clerk at: (601) 304-2520
Detainees who are being removed from the United States are allowed one small piece of luggage. This can be sent after receiving approval from the Supervisory Deportation Officer. For security reasons, no electronic devices (cell phones, electric razors, laptop computers, radios, etc.) are accepted.
How to Call an Inmate
You can't call a detainee at Adams County Detention Center. However, if you need to leave an urgent message you can call 1-800-944-6610. The message should include the detainee's full name, their alien registration number, and a telephone number where you can be reached.

How to Send Money
You can send money to a detainee at Adams County Detention Center by mailing a money order or cashier's check directly to the detainee. Do not send cash. The processing officer will put the money into the detainee's account and issue a receipt. Cashier’s check or money order must include the detainee’s full name and A-number.

To Post a Delivery Bond
When a detainee in ICE custody is placed into removal proceedings while they are in the United States, a delivery bond may be posted. When you post a delivery bond, you are required to show proof of identity.
Bonds for aliens detained by ICE can be posted at ICE ERO bond acceptance offices nationwide, Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., local time. For a list of ICE ERO bond acceptance offices nearest you or for bond information, click here. You must have the last name of the detainee and their alien registration number before calling.
Acceptable forms of payment are:
- money orders
- cashier’s checks
- certified checks
Payments must be made payable to “U.S. Department of Homeland Security” or “Immigration and Customs Enforcement.”
