Visiting Hours and Rules

Visiting hours at Montgomery County Jail are as follows:

Females:
Saturdays: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Sundays: 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Males:
Saturdays: 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Sundays: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

General Rules

Visits with detainees can last a maximum of 30 minutes. To allow enough time to process through security, visitors must arrive 45 minutes prior to their visiting time. All adult visitors must have a valid photo ID to enter the visiting room at Montgomery County Jail. Minors who are visiting must be accompanied by an adult guardian (18 years or older) at all times.

All visits are non-contact. All visitors are subject to a pat-down search of their person, an inspection of their belongings, and a metal scan search. If you refuse to cooperate with a reasonable search, you will not be admitted. 

Visitors are not allowed to carry any items into the visitation area, and they are not allowed to pass any items to detainees.

No firearms or weapons of any kind are permitted. No electronic devices (cell phones, pagers, radios, etc.) are allowed. Please keep all personal items locked in your vehicle. Visitor parking is available on the north side of the facility.

Attorney Visits
Attorneys and paralegals may visit detainees seven days a week between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm., including holidays.

Consular Visits
Consular officials are allowed to meet with their detained nationals at any time. Whenever possible, arrangements should be made with the ICE Supervisory Deportation Officer in advance of the visit. All consular officials should bring appropriate credentials.

Clergy Visits
Clergy are allowed to visit detainees housed at Montgomery County Jail at any time. However, arrangements must be made in advance with the Chaplain’s Office.

All mail sent to detainees must include the last four digits of their Alien number, plus the sender’s name and address. The staff at Montgomery County Jail does not read the detainee mail, but they do screen for contraband. 

Sending Packages

Detainees are not allowed to receive care packages. However, a detainee may receive items that are necessary for travel or release from agency custody with approval of the ICE Deportation Officer. Before sending a package, call (573) 564-8086.

Detainees who are being removed from the United States are allowed to have one small piece of luggage. You can send the luggage and travel items after getting approval from the Supervisory Deportation Officer. For security purposes, no electronic devices (cell phones, electric razors, laptop computers, radios, etc.) are allowed.

How to Call an Inmate

You can't call a detainee at Montgomery County Jail, but you can leave a message. If you need to contact a detainee, call (573) 564-8060. Your message must include the detainee’s full name, alien registration number, and a telephone number where you can be reached.

How to Send Money

To deposit money into a detainee’s trust account at Montgomery County Jail, you can mail a check or money order to the facility. Do not send cash.

When a detainee receives money in the mail, it's taken to the processing area and placed into their account. The processing officer will provide a receipt for all funds received. 

To Post a Delivery Bond

When a person has been taken into ICE custody and placed into removal proceedings while they are in the United States, a delivery bond may be posted. When you post a delivery bond, you are required to show proof of identity.

Bonds for aliens detained by ICE can be posted at ICE ERO bond acceptance offices nationwide, Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., local time. Acceptable forms of payment are: 

  • money orders
  • cashier’s checks 
  • certified checks

Payments must be made payable to “U.S. Department of Homeland Security” or “Immigration and Customs Enforcement.”
