Rifle Correctional Center

Rifle Correctional Center is a minimum-security Colorado state prison for men located in Rifle, Colorado. RCC is essentially a work-release camp that houses a maximum of 200 inmates. The inmates at Rifle Correctional Center are in the final months of their sentence, so they participate in the pre-release program, and they are able to work outside of the prison walls during the day.

Visiting Hours and Rules

All adult visitors must first fill out a visiting application. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian needs to complete a Form 300-01G Authorization for Minor Child Visitation.

If you are traveling a long distance for your visit or you want to request an extended visit, you have the option to submit a Special Visitation Application.

Visiting Application must be mailed to:

Attention: Visiting Department
Rifle Correctional Center
200 County Road 219
Rifle, CO 81650

Visiting phone: (970) 625-7578 ext. 3005
Visiting email: [email protected] us

Visiting hours are on Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Visitor Entry, Searches, and Procedures

All visitors 18 or older must have a photo ID to get admitted into a visit. Acceptable forms of identification include a driver’s license, state ID card, passport, or military ID.

All visitors entering prison grounds are subject to a search. Officers can also search your car and your property. If you refuse, you will be denied the visit and will be required to leave. You will also walk through a metal detector.

RCC allows visitors to bring commercially wrapped food products or food purchased from local restaurants that can be consumed in a barbecue-style setting. You can’t bring in beverages, but you can purchase drinks from the vending machines.

Visitors with infants are allowed to bring baby food containers, but they must be factory sealed. No open food containers or food without containers will be permitted.

Two (2) baby bottles containing food, water, milk, or juice may be taken into the visiting area for each baby. Diaper bags may be taken into the visiting area with two (2) clean diapers, two (2) baby toys which can be easily checked for contraband, and one (1) change of clothes. The diaper bag must be left under staff supervision.

Electronic devices and cameras are not allowed in the visiting room.

It’s best to leave most items in your car. You must have a Photo ID, but other than that, keep it simple and just bring in your keys, food, and money for the vending machines.

Dress Code

Always keep it modest. You can’t wear revealing or see-through clothing, or anything that resembles what the inmates wear (solid green or solid orange). Don’t wear dresses, skirts, or shorts that hit above the knee, and you can’t wear jackets, hats, or scarves into the visiting room.

If you do not follow the dress code, you will be denied the visit.
