Visiting Hours and Rules

You must be approved by the Florida Department of Corrections before you can visit an inmate at Hamilton Correctional Institution Annex. Talk with your inmate (by phone or mail) and let them know that you would like to be on their approved visiting list. They will have to start the process by contacting their caseworker, who will send you a visitor applicationㅡwhich is available in both English and Spanish.

Once you receive your application in the mail, be sure to fill it out completely and send it back to the address on the form. Everyone 12 or older must complete an application in order to visit an inmate.

Hamilton Correctional Institution Annex visiting hours are on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Registration begins at 8:15 a.m. and ends at 2:00 p.m. This means that if you arrive after 2pm, you won’t be allowed to visit.

All visitors 17 or younger must be accompanied by an approved adult on the inmate’s visiting list.

Visit procedures

Be prepared to answer a series of questions from the officers and submit to numerous searches before you are allowed to visit with an inmate at Hamilton Correctional Institution Annex.

To start, the officers will ask you about contraband, and then they will search your property before you go through a metal detector and a Magneto Static Detector (which detects cell phones). After that, you must submit to a pat search, and the last step is a barrier search that is conducted by a canine handler.

Do not attempt to bring contraband into Hamilton Correctional Institution Annex. If you are caught with items like cell phones, tobacco, weapons, or drugs, you could be arrested.

You will be allowed to visit an inmate at Hamilton Correctional Institution Annex after you have cleared the searches.
