Baltimore Central Booking and Intake Center

The Baltimore Central Booking and Intake Center is the facility in the state of Maryland that is responsible for inmate intake and classification. Basically, just about every personㄧmale or femaleㄧsentenced to prison in the state of Maryland starts at this facility before being transferred to their permanent facility.

When an inmate arrives at Baltimore Central Booking and Intake Center, all of their clothing and possessions are taken. Friends and family can pick up their inmate’s property up to three days after the inmate is booked at the Eager Street location.

For the first three days, friends and family can pick up these items 24 hours a day, seven days a week at 301 East Eager Street in Baltimore. You must have a photo ID to pick up these items.

After the first three days, the items are moved to the Jail Industries Building at 531 East Madison Street (Graves Street side of building). They are open for inmate property pickup from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday, and you must have a photo ID.

The Division of Pretrial Detention and Services is located in Baltimore City, and currently consists of the following facilities: Baltimore Central Booking and Intake Center; Chesapeake Detention Facility; Metropolitan Transition Center; and the Baltimore Pre-trial Complex, which includes the Wyatt Building, the Jail Industries Building, the Annex, and the Women’s Detention Center.
