Visiting Hours and Rules

The visiting hours at Roxbury Correctional Institution are Saturday through Monday, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. All visitors must register by 1:15 PM and visits can last up to one hour.

General population inmates are allowed two visits per week, and Segregation inmates are allowed one visit per week.

The visiting week begins on Friday and ends on Monday. On weekdays only, if a second and different visitor arrives for visitation on the same day, this visit will be considered the second visit for the week, and no more will be allowed.

During the weekend visiting schedule, the odd/even numbering system will be in effectㅡthe last digit of the inmate's ID number will correspond to the date of the visit (i.e., odd digit corresponds with odd date; even digit corresponds with even date).  Whenever both days are odd on the weekend, even and odd numbers may visit on either day but not on both days.

General Visiting Rules

Three adults and three minors are permitted per visit. Minors accompanying adults must be supervised and kept under control by the adult at all times or the visit may be terminated. This includes the restriction of minors from wandering from their assigned seat. All male visitors must have their hand-stamped.

Visitors are not permitted to carry any items into the visiting room with the exception of life-saving medications, which must be communicated to the Front Lobby Officer prior to the visit.

No infant paraphernalia, with the exception of a pacifier, will be permitted in the visiting room.

All visitors 16 years of age and older must present a photo ID.

Children (18 years of age and younger) visiting the inmate must be immediate family to either the inmate or visitor and must be accompanied by a person (18 years of age or older) who is on the inmate's visiting list.

Dress Code

All visitors, including children, must dress appropriately for visitation.  All clothing must cover you from the neck to the kneecaps.

The following types of clothing are not allowed to be worn:

  • tube tops, tank tops, or halter tops
  • see-through clothing
  • mini-skirts, mini-dresses, shorts, skorts, or culottes (at or above the kneecap)
  • form-fitting clothes such as leotards, spandex, and leggings
  • clothes that expose a person's midriff, side, or back
  • tops or dresses that have revealing necklines and/or excessive splits
  • coats, jackets, shawls, and scarves will be placed in an appropriate area (Exceptions will be made for religious headdress)
  • shower shoes or flip flops

Visitors must remove jewelry, to include: tongue, ear, and facial piercings, with the exception of wedding ring sets or medic alert jewelry. You may store them in the lockers that are provided in the Front Lobby.
