Issaquena County Correctional Facility

Issaquena County Correctional Facility is a regional detention center for male and female inmates in Issaquena County and surrounding counties in Mississippi. The mixed-security facility is located in Mayersville, Mississippi, and is fenced with razor-wire and perimeter patrol. ICCF houses both long-term state inmates and county detainees preparing to face trial.

It is made up of modules each containing four dormitories (each with a sleeping area, dining area/ day room, and restroom), disciplinary cells, a multipurpose room, an infirmary, a visiting center, and security stations. Each pod can house up to 90 inmates.

Inmates are housed in pods with two-man cells aligning one wall arranged on two floors. There is a large common area with tables, chairs, and a TV, and community showers are also available near the dayroom.

Inmate wake-up is at 5:30 a.m. and breakfast is served at 6:00 a.m. Offenders report to their assigned jobs at 7:30 am.

General Visiting Rules

No cellphones, you will be searched before visiting. NO personal belongings. Persons under probation, parole, or other community corrections supervision must obtain the permission of both their individual supervising officer and the superintendent prior to a visit. Such visitation is not normally approved.

If the visitor is under the age of 18 and is a family member of the inmate, they must be accompanied by an adult family member or guardian to include a member of the inmate's extended family. If the visitor is under the age of 18 and is not a family member of the inmate, the minor visitor must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Dress Code

Visitors will be dressed appropriately. No tank tops, see-through clothing, low-cut articles of clothing exposing the upper torso, miniskirts or mini-dresses, or any form of seductive garments will be allowed.

Shorts and skirts must be no more than three inches above the knee. Visitors must wear full-length shirts (long or short sleeve). Shoes designated for street wear, including tennis shoes, must be worn. House slippers, beach sandals (i.e. thongs, flip-flops), and shower shoes are not permitted. Individuals improperly or inappropriately dressed will not be allowed to visit.

Programs For Inmates

There are educational and vocational training programs for all inmates at Issaquena County Correctional Facility.

Eligible inmates can take adult basic education courses and earn a GED. They can also participate in pre-release programs to help prepare them for reintegration with society. In addition, inmates can take life skills courses, as well as level I, II, and III discipleship training.
