Oliver J. Bell Unit
The Oliver J. Bell Unit (Formerly known as the Cleveland Correctional Center) is a private prison for male inmates located in Cleveland, Texas. This facility is managed by Management and Training Corporation (MTC) and can house a maximum of 520 inmates.
Nearly all of the men incarcerated at Oliver J. Bell Unit will eventually be released. It’s MTC’s responsibility to provide a wide range of educational, vocational, substance abuse, cognitive behavioral, and life skills programs to prepare these men to successfully return to their communities.

Visiting Hours and Rules
The visiting hours at Oliver J. Bell Unit are on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Before you can visit with an inmate at Oliver J. Bell Unit, you must submit a visiting application and get approval from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. The visiting application and instructions can be found below.

Dress Code
The dress code at Oliver J. Bell Unit is conservative.
- Sandals, flip-flops, and open-toe shoes may be worn.
- Clothing that is tight fitting, revealing, or made with see-through fabrics shall not be allowed.
- Sleeveless shirts and dresses are allowed, but must cover the shoulders.
- Shorts and skirts no shorter than three inches above the middle of the knee while standing, capri pants, or long pants are allowed.
- Length is not restricted for pre-adolescent boys and girls, generally ages 10 and younger.
- Clothing with pictures or language that may be considered profane or offensive by current public standards shall not be allowed.

Permissible Items
- small wallet, clear plastic Ziploc® type bag, or change purse
- coin money in an amount not to exceed $25
Visitors with infants or small children may bring no more than three (3) diapers, a supply of baby wipes and two (2) baby bottles, or a “sippy” cup for toddlers, into the unit. These items must be stored in a clear plastic bag.
Electronics ARE NOT ALLOWED in the visiting room. This includes: cell phones, smartwatches, pagers, laptop computers, cameras, digital recorders, or any other type of electronic or wireless devices.
