Lakin Correctional Center

The Lakin Correctional Center and Jail is a maximum-security facility for female inmates that is located just north of Point Pleasant, West Virginia. This is the only all-female prison in the state of West Virginia, and it can house a maximum of 543 inmates. This facility is operated by the West Virginia Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

The Lakin Correctional Center houses female inmates of all custody levels, from minimum to maximum. Depending on their custody level, inmates can be housed in a dormitory style housing unit, a modular housing unit, a multiple occupancy cell, or a single occupancy cell.
