Flambeau Correctional Center

The Flambeau Correctional Center is a prison for minimum-security male inmates that is located inside of the Flambeau River State Forest in Hawkins, Wisconsin. This facility is part of the Wisconsin Correctional Center System, which is an "institution" made up of 14 different correctional centers that are overseen by a single warden.

The Flambeau Correctional Camp opened in 1954 and was built to house minimum-security inmates. They were part of a labor force that assisted with the development of the state forest. In the 1960's, FCC’s focus changed to supervising juvenile offenders.

In 1980, FCC briefly became a treatment center for two years. It then went back to being a work center for minimum-security male inmates.
