Gordon Correctional Center
The Gordon Correctional Center is a prison for adult male inmates that is located about two miles southeast of the Village of Gordon in Wisconsin. This facility sits on County Road "G" in an annex of the Brule River State Forest. It has a capacity to house 89 inmates.
GCC is part of the Wisconsin Correctional Center System, an "institution" that consists of 14 correctional centers overseen by a single warden.

Visiting Hours and Rules
Visiting hours at Gordon Correctional Center are:
- Saturday and Sunday 9:00 am to 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 pm to 4:00 p.m
- Monday and Friday 6:30 pm to 9:00 p.m.
Note: Visitors will not be admitted if they do not arrive 30 minutes prior to the end of visiting hours.
Video Visits During the Pandemic
During the COVID pandemic, persons in the care of GCC are eligible for free video visitation. This is a temporary service that will continue until they are able to return to normal in-person visitation.
In order to ensure everybody has the opportunity to participate each person will be limited to one video visit per week. The video visitation process will be reevaluated at the beginning of each month to determine if resources allow for modifications to the schedule.
Visitors must be on an inmate's approved visiting list to schedule video visitation. Visits will be scheduled in 45 minute sessions on a first-come first-served basis by emailing the following address at least two business days prior to the day of requested visitation: [email protected].
The video visitation schedule is as follows: Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.
Visits will be conducted through ZOOM. Visitors are strongly encouraged to download the ZOOM app prior to the start of the visit to ensure accessibility. The application can be downloaded on their computer, laptop, cell phone, or tablet.
General Visiting Rules
All visitors must complete the Request to Visit Offender form and successfully clear through the metal detector before being allowed access into the visiting area.
Purses and diaper bags are not permitted inside the center. Diapers, individual wipes, plastic baby bottles, and toddler cups should be carried in a paper or plastic bag.
No money orders or certified checks are to be brought in on visits. Visitors are not allowed to bring in any smoking materials. No personal property (including cellular phones, pagers, PDA’s, electronic devices or cameras) are allowed in the center except for baby supplies and a maximum of $15 in cash (for the vending machines).
Outside visiting is held during the summer months between Memorial Day and Labor Day, weather permitting, as determined by staff. Outside visits are conducted on weekends and holidays.
Picnic visits are allowed on Saturday, Sunday and Holidays from the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend through the Labor Day weekend. Picnic visits or food items are not allowed during evening visits.
The picnic visit area is directly in front of the main building. Visitors may bring in normal picnic type foods. All containers for food items will be plastic and not contain juices. Beverages/liquids must be in a factory sealed container.
Factory sealed cold packs are allowed (no ice cubes). Visitors may bring a small charcoal grill or charcoal for cooking (No gas grills). Only plastic flatware is allowed. Cooking utensils will be limited to one metal spatula and one metal tongs.
Visitors may only bring in approved food or beverages during authorized picnic visit times.
Dress Code
Gordon CC promotes a family friendly atmosphere and visitors should keep this in mind when selecting clothing to wear for their visit. The following apparel/accessories are considered unacceptable and will result in the denial of a visit:
- Watches of all types including smart watches
- Any wearable items with internet/smart technology and/or electronic recording equipment in any form
- Transparent clothing (thin white or light colored shirts)
- Shorts shorter than fingertip length (visitor standing naturally with arms straight down the side of body and fingers extended)
- Skirts or dresses shorter than fingertip length plus three inches
- Tops and dresses that are strapless, tube, tank, spaghetti-strap and/or halter top
- Tops and dresses that expose the midriff (front and/or back) and/or cleavage area
- Spandex, spandex-like, Lycra or Lycra-like tights, leggings, and jeggings
- Any clothing with the potential to cause undue attention
- Underwear worn on the outside or exposed undergarments
- Clothing with holes or tears including jeans and Jackets with partial holes
- Clothing or accessories with obscene or profane writing, images or pictures
- Gang-related or club related clothing or insignia. This includes headwear, footwear, logos, or insignias. Motorcycle jackets bearing club logos.
- Hats must be worn with brim facing straight forward at all-times
- Pants must be pulled up at all times (no sagging)
Footwear shall be worn at all times. Headwear/Hats are permitted. Acceptable attire must be worn at all times. Restrictions apply equally to men, women, and children.

Programs For Inmates
GCC offers a work release program that allows qualified inmates to work with local employers. Emphasis is placed on maintaining that employment placement after the inmate’s release.
Inmates also have an opportunity to attend school and work towards earning a High School Equivalency Diploma.
