How to Call an Inmate in Tennessee

You can’t call an inmate who is incarcerated with the Tennessee Department of Corrections. However, if you wish to receive calls from an inmate, you can do that with an account through GTL’s ConnectNetwork.

What is ConnectNetwork?

ConnectNetwork is GTL’s authorized service for electronic payments, account management and enhanced services such as e-messaging/email. ConnectNetwork can take payments using the ConnectNetwork.com website.  

Visit ConnectNetwork.com to create an account and effectively manage your payments, create e-messages (where available) and keep track of your payments. For most accounts, payments made using ConnectNetwork are processed nearly immediately, with all payments credited within two business days.  

ConnectNetwork.com allows you to create your AdvancePay prepaid telephone account, add correctional facilities to your account and add specific offenders to your account. Once your account is created, you will have access to the full range of services that GTL offers for that facility and for funding services for particular offenders.

AdvancePay Prepaid Telephone Accounts

To accept calls from an inmate in a Tennessee facility, it’s recommended that you create an AdvancePay prepaid telephone account. Prepaid calling works by placing money on your phone number so that when your offender calls you the funds are deducted from the balance on your prepaid account.

To set up or fund a prepaid account, you have four options:

• Web – visit www.ConnectNetwork.com to create a prepaid telephone account, add funds to prepaid telephone accounts, view balances, and more. 
• Phone – call 1-800-483-8314 to create or add funds to an AdvancePay® prepaid telephone account.
• Western Union – Payments to your GTL AdvancePay® account may be made by visiting your local Western Union.
• Mail – Payments made to your GTL AdvancePay® account may also be made by check or money order. Send payments to:  AdvancePay Service Department, PO Box 911722, Denver, Colorado 80291-1722

Inmate Phone Accounts

ConnectNetwork PIN Debit (Inmate Phone) accounts allow you to make deposits. Once funds have been deposited, the deposit is credited to the offender and may be used to make phone calls to any allowed phone number.
